About The Position:

SpeedLab is an innovative project in athletic development, dedicated to serving the modern youth athlete more effectively than is currently accepted. SpeedLab lives within COPA STC and we are dedicated to teaching the movement skills needed for athletes of all sports to have increased confidence, enjoyment and performance in their sport and life.

SpeedLab coaches use innovative technologies and cutting-edge sports science to create a unique training environment that allows coaches to think outside the box and constantly level up their coaching to drive player development.  Coaches will work within the SpeedLab methodology and curriculum to deliver impactful private and small-group training sessions to athletes ages 9-19.

The Youth Performance Coach will be required to become equipped with an advanced knowledge and use of the following innovative technologies suites:

·         SpeedTrack laser timing gates

·         SpeedCourt agility testing

·         Vald Force Deck

·         Output Sports velocity based training & athlete monitoring 

The Youth Performance Coach role at SpeedLab is a part-time role. We are seeking individuals with a passion for coaching youth athletes and leveraging our state-of-the-art facility to deliver one of a kind training sessions. The role requires 3-5 days of availability per week, offers competitive compensation, on-site training, free facility access and a fun engaging environment to work with like-minded people.

Role Details:

·         10-20 hours per week

·         Primary responsibility will be to lead small group training sessions as well as large team training sessions.

·         Additional weekly responsibilities may include but not limited to:

o   Assessments

o   Talent ID

o   Camps

o   Video analysis

o   Team/Small Group Training

Schedule & Availability Details:

·         3-5 days of the following time frames

o   Mon through Friday – 3pm-8:30pm

o   Saturday and Sunday – 9am-3pm

Key Responsibilities & Objectives:

·         Deliver SpeedLab training sessions to athletes ages 9-19

·         Engage with aspiring athletes, youth to pro, on a daily basis.

·         Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging technology fueled environment for athletes to thrive.

·         Participate in staff development and outreach events.

Requirements:

·         Experience coaching youth athletes 

·         Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program for Kinesiology.

·         CSCS, XPS or other relevant performance/strength and conditioning certification.

·         Physical effort and exertion, which may include all exercise and sports-related movements, maintenance of equipment, lifting weights up to 45 pounds, and prolonged walking and standing. 

·         Ability to learn and become comfortable with our technology, operating software, and hardware which is integral to our facility and curriculum.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Proven time management and organizational skills.

·         Solution orientated in difficult situations –particularly related to customer issues.
