WHBQ in Memphis, TN is looking for a full-time Production Assistant to join our winning team! Production Assistants are trained to act with excellence in various production roles during live newscasts. Positions include Camera, TelePrompTer, Floor Manager, Audio Operator and Graphic/Video Playback operator.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Performs duties that require problem-solving abilities, creativity, initiative, and a desire to grow within the organization.
• Executes tasks with strong attention to detail as one of the final gatekeepers before our product is transmitted over the air.
• Takes on new and challenging roles with a willingness to learn.
• Applies knowledge from coursework while working toward a degree in a related field.
• Assists in the newsroom with editing, writing, graphic creation, and other support tasks.

Physical Demands

• Required to sit or stand for long periods of time
• May be required to do some lifting and or moving of equipment (less than 50lbs)

• Must be able to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
• Some College and or experience working in live production environment is preferred
• Ability to edit with Adobe Premier software
• Desire to grow and advance to new positions in the station
