Cornerstone University is seeking a full time, tenure-track, 9-month teaching faculty for our Media Production program. We are a theologically conservative Christian University located in Grand Rapids, MI. The primary responsibilities of the faculty are teaching, spiritual modeling and mentoring, scholarship, and involvement in and service to Cornerstone and the general community.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
Within the Media Production area, Cornerstone offers majors and minors in Media Production, Digital Media, and Graphic Design, as well as a major in Music Production. We are currently seeking candidates who are able to teach courses in the areas of Film and Video Production, Audio Production, Music Production, and/or Digital Media. Candidates with a broad range of experience who may be able to teach across multiple areas and candidates who primarily specialize in one of these areas will be considered. Additional opportunities to teach in areas such as Music or Communication Studies may be available, depending on candidate qualifications.Candidates should be able to teach a variety of media production courses. Other responsibilities include professional engagement in the candidate's specialization area, academic advising, student recruitment, course and program assessment, and other departmental duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Cornerstone‘s Media Production program provides a Christ-focused education that is dedicated to smaller class sizes and one on one training of students. Our faculty enjoy working together to mentor and teach our eager students our specific subject matter with a Christian Worldview.
A successful candidate will possess a master’s or doctorate in a related field. Or if you have a Bachelor's or Master's in relevant disciplines, several years of work-related experience, and a desire to pursue a graduate or terminal degree, please apply for further discussion.
Physical requirements include the ability to teach 12 credits/semester of classes and labs on campus, use computers, operate lab equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
