JOB DESCRIPTION
Location: Parsippany, NJ (Onsite required Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; remote work on Monday and Friday).
Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.

Freelance Avid Editor

To succeed in this role, you must be well-organized with excellent media and time management skills. You should be able to take direction effectively, work independently or collaboratively to meet deadlines, and bring creativity and style to various brands. A strong sense of typography, timing, style, and design is essential. Many projects involve heavy compositing as well as animation and motion graphics.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Production Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create marketing videos that effectively communicate branding and marketing messages.
• Edit broadcast-quality videos, commercials, and promos using Avid Media Composer.
• Perform basic AVID color correction and work comfortably with conversion LUTS and LOG color workflows.
• Create motion graphics and animations using Adobe Photoshop and After Effects.
• Compress and transcode videos and media files for digital distribution.
• Produce multiple cuts of approved videos while retaining the original look and feel.
• Maintain media assets, servers, and libraries.
• Edit, package, and deliver finalized video content.

Requirements

• Excellent storytelling skills.
• Team player who is organized, punctual, and able to follow direction in both live and post-production environments.
• An online portfolio showcasing motion graphics and editing expertise.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience with Avid Media Composer and Adobe After Effects.
• Proficiency in:
  • Avid Media Composer (keyboard shortcuts, video compositing, color correction, chroma-keying, audio mixing, FX, motion graphics, broadcast standards).
  • Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, Sorenson Squeeze, and Google Suite.
• The ability to work onsite at production facilities in Parsippany, NJ.
