We are seeking a Certified Special Education ELA Teacher to join our team and support Middle School (grades 6-8) and High School (grades 9-12) students in an online learning environment. Position Overview
Reporting to the Campus Director, the Certified Special Education ELA Teacher will manage a student caseload, create engaging lesson plans, and implement instructional strategies tailored to students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). This position requires a dynamic educator with experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners and a commitment to professional growth through workshops and classroom coaching.
Key Responsibilities
Student Engagement & Instruction:
Manage and oversee a caseload of students in the online learning environment.
Provide instructional support and adapt teaching materials to meet diverse student needs.
Plan weekly lessons using established curriculum resources.
Collaborate with a team to implement individualized education strategies aligned with students' IEP goals.
Data-Driven Decision-Making:
Analyze curriculum data bi-weekly to refine and enhance instructional approaches.
Collect, analyze, and report student performance data in a meaningful way to inform progress.
Parent & Staff Collaboration:
Maintain consistent communication with parents to foster a supportive learning community.
Provide feedback and engage in regular communication with staff members.
IEP Development:
Develop and maintain IEPs for assigned students.
Attend all required student meetings and ensure compliance with special education regulations.
Professional Development:
Participate in workshops, coaching, and other professional development opportunities.
Stay informed about special education teaching methods and best practices.
Classroom Management:
Plan and organize structured teaching sessions.
Maintain substitute plans to ensure continuity in case of absence.
Celebrate student achievements and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Other Responsibilities:
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree or higher.
Preferred:
At least three years of experience teaching students with moderate to severe disabilities in an online learning environment.
Training and experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive salary based on experience: $52,000 - $68,000 DOE.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Physical Demands: Light work, including stooping, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, and repetitive motions. May involve exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently.
Work Conditions: Primarily performed in an indoor classroom setting.
