How Is This Role Important to Our Work?


Provide telephonic and/or face to face wellness coaching to enrollees to reduce and eliminate moderate-risk behaviors and promote healthy behaviors (weight loss, stress management, nutritional counseling, and tobacco cessation).


A Day in the Life:

  • Conducts member-focused interviews and coaching with moderate risk individuals through pre-defined lifestyle interventions as identified primarily by Health Risk Assessment (HRA) and biometric screening data.
  • Utilizes motivational interviewing skills to reduce ambivalence and clarify goals and support coaching timeframes and support processes driven by need, interest and readiness of the member.
  • Develops customized care plans that are tailored to individual enrollees.
  • Provides member coaching in a variety of settings. i.e. telephonic, onsite, virtual.
  • Works with other health and wellness staff members in a collaborative and cohesive team environment.



Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or Masters degree in health-related field, Clinical Practice and/or Health Promotion. Registered Dietician.

Required Skills and Experiences:

  • 3+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered.
  • Certification from an accredited professional wellness coach training program.
  • Knowledge of specific disease lifestyle related topics such as smoking cessation, weight management, nutrition, and stress reduction.
  • Demonstrates interpersonal, communication, motivation, and listening skills.
  • Ability to organize work effectively. Familiarity using modern technology.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity.
  • Ability to perform using multiple computer applications.
  • Compassionate communicator.
  • Ability to quickly gain customer trust and confidence.
