Position: Valet Attendants

Type: Full-Time and Part-Time available

Location: Chalmers P. Wylie VA Ambulatory Care Center, Columbus, OH

Position Summary: The Valet Attendant supports daily operations at the Columbus VA Ambulatory Care Clinic by providing safe, courteous parking and retrieval for Veterans and visitors. Valet Attendants are responsible for managing assigned vehicles, assisting guests, ensuring vehicle and key security, and embodying the highest standards of professionalism in all interactions. This role is vital for patient access and satisfaction and provides essential support and positive experiences for Veterans seeking healthcare services. 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

•  These services are required to support unique efforts which may require: 

• Provide valet parking for Veterans and visitors during standard operating hours

• Greet guests, verify ID, issue and retrieve claim checks

• Safely and efficiently move, park, and retrieve vehicles in the designated lot

• Secure all keys in the valet booth; maintain key control and security

• Respond to guest needs, provide wheelchair assistance, and coordinate with VA Police and other staff as needed

• Report incidents, vehicle damage, or complaints per VA policy

• Maintain a neat and professional appearance and positive customer service attitude at all times 

Required Skills and Abilities:  

• High school diploma or GED 

• Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service, transportation, or parking (preferred) 

• Ability to safely and efficiently operate a wide variety of vehicles (automatic and manual transmissions) 

• Valid state-issued driver's license; clean DMV record; ability to provide certified driving history

• Must pass criminal background check and drug screening

• Must speak fluent English

• Must NOT be listed on the HHS OIG List of Excluded Individuals/Entities

• Excellent verbal communication and customer service skills 

• Professional appearance and ability to wear uniforms as required

Physical Demands and Work Environment: While performing the duties of this position, the IC is regularly required to talk, listen, and write. The IC frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms. The IC must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
