Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to provide remote instruction for students in grades 3-5 during a temporary paternity leave coverage period. This full-time position will be from February 10 to March 14, 2024, and offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on a group of 17 students. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering individualized instruction to meet students' academic and social-emotional goals as outlined in their IEPs (Individualized Education Programs).

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver personalized, one-on-one, or small group instruction to students in grades 3-5, following the specific goals outlined in their IEPs.
Track and monitor student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to students, parents, and other members of the educational team.
Collaborate closely with general education teachers, families, and support staff to adjust instructional strategies and provide updates on student development.
Maintain accurate, organized records, including student assessment data, IEP updates, and documentation from virtual meetings.
Provide ongoing support for students' behavioral and emotional needs in a virtual classroom setting.

Qualifications:

A valid Colorado Special Education Teaching License is required.
Experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in a virtual or remote teaching environment, is preferred.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively connect with students, parents, and team members.
Ability to create engaging, individualized learning plans tailored to each student's needs.
Comfortable working independently while being an active, collaborative member of a virtual teaching team.

Compensation:

Hourly Rate: $35-$37.50/hour, which equates to an annual salary of approximately $60,000-$65,000 (based on a 10-month schedule).
