Job Description

Are you a passionate and dedicated educator with a strong commitment to supporting students with diverse needs? We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide remote instruction for a caseload of 17 students in grades 3-5 during a paternity leave coverage period. This is a full-time position from February 10 to March 14, 2024, where you will play a key role in delivering individualized education and fostering a positive, supportive virtual learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small group instruction that is tailored to each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Monitor and assess student progress, offering timely feedback to students, parents, and the broader support team.
Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure consistency in instructional strategies and to provide regular updates on student development.
Maintain accurate and organized records, including student assessments, IEP revisions, and notes from virtual meetings.
Address the academic, behavioral, and emotional needs of students, ensuring a nurturing and effective remote learning experience.

Qualifications:

Active Special Education Teaching License in Colorado is required.
Previous experience working with elementary-aged students, especially in virtual or remote learning environments, is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and team members.
Ability to create engaging, individualized learning plans that promote student success.
Comfort and experience working independently and collaboratively in a virtual setting.
