Job Title: Telecom Network Engineer ( NFV & SDN )
Location: Overland Park, KS ( Onsite )
Duration/Term: Long Term Contract

Job Description:

We are seeking a Telecommunications Applications Engineer responsible for implementing and certifying telecommunications applications on the OCP Platform . The role involves supporting the integration of each platform into cloud and orchestration environments , collaborating with application owners , and ensuring cloud platforms meet application requirements. The engineer will also be responsible for testing, documentation, and supporting the application testing team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Platform Integration: Lead the integration of telco network functions on the Openshift Container Platform (OCP) .
• Cloud & NFV Deployment: Deploy telco NFV on public and private cloud environments , ensuring seamless functionality.
• Requirement Documentation: Create technical requirement documents based on discussions with application owners and stakeholders.
• Technical Collaboration: Work closely with cloud architects and application teams to ensure successful onboarding and management of telco applications .
• Network Automation & Orchestration: Support network automation in a cloud-native environment using tools such as Ansible, Helm, Terraform, and GraphQL .
• Container Networking & Policy Definition: Define network policies and ensure external connectivity within Kubernetes/OpenShift environments.
• Testing & Certification: Maintain and certify telecommunications applications , ensuring compliance with cloud platform standards.
• Technical Documentation: Develop best practices and detailed documentation for the onboarding process.
• Networking Expertise: Provide expertise on containerized networking , CNI plugins (Multus, Calico, SR-IOV, Kube-OVN), and data center networking (Cisco Nexus N9K, Spine-Leaf architecture).
• Service Integration: Ensure DNS resolution, DHCP, IPAM integration within dynamic OCP environments .

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in the telecom domain , deploying telco NFV on public/private clouds .

Technical Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of 5 IMS Core, OpenShift platform, SDN, and container networking .
• Experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Helm, Terraform, GraphQL).
• Proficiency in scripting languages ( Python, Bash ) for automation.
• Familiarity with telecom protocols (SIP, Diameter, MPLS, BGP, VXLAN).
• Expertise in container networking technologies (Multus, Calico, SR-IOV, Kube-OVN).
• Experience in data center networking (Spine-Leaf architecture, Cisco Nexus N9K).

Certifications (Preferred):

• CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator)
• RHOCP (Red Hat OpenShift Certification)
• AWS/Azure Certifications
