Job Description

Overview

The Talent Acquisition Associate is responsible for providing day-to-day recruitment and administrative support for the City of Corpus Christi Human Resources department and Talent Acquisition division. This position involves sourcing, attracting, and interviewing prospective employees, maintaining active/inactive personnel records, and providing front desk administrative support.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and coordinates recruitment activities as requested by assigned department(s), to include posting requisitions, screening/referring applicants, pre-employment/onboarding, and submitting hire in Infor system
  • Represents the City at job fairs and other special events related to recruiting
  • Processes all changes in status to include promotions, demotions, transfers, and terms
  • Serve as main point of contact for the front desk duties (i.e. answering/routing incoming calls, direct customers to appropriate department staff, inquires from external sources).
  • Assists with all internal and external HR-related matters
  • Maintain the department's conference room schedule and requests for meetings
  • Responsible for performing audits in Laserfiche repository (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) to ensure all documents have been placed correctly in personnel folders and inactive folders have been moved accordingly
  • Responsible for creating and updating the HR Recruiting division process documents and SOP's
  • Coordinates creation of ID badges for new employees, check in, ID photos, etc.
  • Completes employment verifications verbally and in writing based on department procedures
  • Tracks Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for assigned departments (turnover/retention rate)
  • Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work

  • Exempt – Full-Time
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
  • In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or Two-year technical certificate
  • Two (2) years of previous experience

Licenses and Certifications

Required

  • A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Basis of Rating

A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications and may request additional information. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
