Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,000+ satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
Key job responsibilities
As a System Development Engineer in the Flight Software team, you will work with a wide variety of functional groups and will be involved in the design and implementation of software systems for the full cycle of provisioning of Satellites and ancillary, as well as overall system integration:
- Develop tools for pre- and post- vehicle validation and testing
- Support software bring-up, debug of new hardware.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement optimized validation and verification software.

This role is for a SysDev who will design, build, and maintain components and services of Project Kuiper's Customer eCommerce Services and interact with the core Kuiper Network.
About the team
Our team owns developing the architecture, solutions & roadmap for managing the customer lifecycle for communications services; including identity and account management, subscriber management services, customer and technical support tools, and customer metrics and analytics.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- BS or MS in electrical engineering, computer engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience with C, Rust, Java, Python or other scripting languages. Experience automating, building, and testing systems
- Experience with HW/SW bring up and debugging
- Experience working in a hardware lab
