Job Description

Seeking a sitter to work full-time or part-time hours, working with multiple families

We are an approved respite provider for children with special needs, including autism, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy. 

Pay range: $17.50 to $20.50 per hour + sibling care bonuses 

Regional Center Special Programs:

  • Currently running commute mileage reimbursement
  • Special programs are subject to change based on regional center policy

We look for:

  • An engaging, creative, child-focused individual who is willing to have fun, play, read, do arts and crafts, and do other activities in families' homes. 
  • Fully Vaccinated + Boosted for Covid-19
  • Childcare or nanny experience preferred
  • Special needs experience in any capacity is an absolute plus!
  • Childcare references, which can come from paid or unpaid experience.
  • Part-time schedules are 12-30 hours per week between 12pm-8pm
  • Full-time schedules are 30 to 40 hours per week are also available with the pickup of additional backup care shifts.
  • Reliable and insured transportation is required to travel to various family homes.
  • Cell phone with data to accept and record assignments.
Working Conditions and Requirements:
  • The work environment will be active, kid-centric, and include clean-up of activities
  • Part of each day may be spent outside, weather permitting, and will be active play
  • Essential Physical Requirements:
  • Position involves regular lifting, bending, squatting, reaching, and pushing
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds safely
  • Must be able to get up from and down to the floor numerous times throughout the day
  • Will need to be able to react quickly to certain situations
  • May need to react to emergent situations in a calm, effective and safe manner
