The Rescue Mission of Trenton is dedicated to serving our community by providing essential support and resources. Our community thrift store plays a vital role in our mission, offering affordable clothing, furniture, and household items to those in need.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Store Assistant to run our community thrift store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for stocking, sorting, and selling items while providing excellent customer service. Additional responsibilities will include driving a box truck to collect store items when store is closed and interacting with client volunteers to help with store and collection work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the cash register and assist customers during purchases.
• Stock and sort clothing, furniture, and household items for sale.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
• Collaborate with staff and client volunteers to drive our box truck to pick up donations of clothing and furniture.
• Support community outreach initiatives through the thrift store.

Qualifications:

• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Physical ability to lift and move items over 15lbs as needed.
• Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.

Hourly Rate : $17.50 plus additional $1 bonus quarterly and a comprehensive benefit plan.
Schedule:  Store Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday  Pickup Days: Tuesday and Thursday (driving the box truck)
Hours : 9a-4p, Monday - Friday
