So, what will the Staffing and Classification Specialist at Terrestris do?
The Staffing and Classification Specialist will provide HR administrative and technical services to the Staffing and Classification Branch within the HR Office at NSWCPD. This role involves assisting in various HR processes, with a primary focus on supporting the in-processing of newly hired employees, conducting new employee orientation, and ensuring accurate record-keeping and form management. The specialist will work closely with applicants, new hires, and HR team members to ensure smooth and efficient HR operations.
What does a typical day look like for a Staffing and Classification Specialist?
The Staffing and Classification Specialist's day is dynamic. The role involves assisting with the in-processing of newly hired employees by facilitating New Employee Orientation, preparing onboarding materials, and presenting the HR portion of the orientation. The specialist enters applicant data into USA Staffing, provides guidance on completing onboarding forms, and ensures all necessary documentation is collected for security investigations. They verify new hire information through E-Verify and the Selective Service database, process payroll forms, and review personnel actions for accuracy. Additionally, the specialist supports the recruitment coordinator by uploading resumes into ERecruiter, labeling HR Advisor folders, and providing assistance at career/job fairs. Throughout the day, the specialist collaborates with team members and applicants to ensure a smooth and efficient HR process.
