Requirements

The office of Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) is a member of the Division of Student Affairs . The central mission of CAPS is to collaborate directly with students and the campus community. CAPS is dedicated to helping students develop greater self-understanding, identify and solve problems, and improve academic performance through the alleviation of psychological, emotional, and cognitive barriers. In order to best meet the demand for services, which at times may exceed capacity, CAPS operates according to a limited treatment model in which the student and the clinician collaboratively address the student's primary concerns in a time-efficient manner.

The Staff Clinician entails the delivery of psychotherapy, counseling, outreach, and consultation services to Georgetown students, and consultations to deans, faculty, staff, and parents. This position reports to the Associate Director for Multicultural Initiatives and is responsible for consulting and liaising with offices such as GSP, CSP, CMEA, and other spaces for first-generation students and students of color. Additional duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee individual, group, and crisis intervention to GU students with a focus on students of color and those from marginalized identities.
  • Provide outreach programming and consultation to University offices and students.
  • Supervise trainees as designated by the Associate Director for Training.
  • Manage notes and documentation, attending meetings and completing other responsibilities as designated by supervisor and/or Director.




Requirements and Qualifications

  • MSW, Ph.D, Ed.D or Psy.D degree required
  • Demonstrated experience as a psychologist
  • D.C. license in psychology or social work must be obtained within one year of hire date
  • Previous experience in a university counseling center providing outreach services to the student population noted above is highly preferred

Pay Range:


The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:
$54,616.00 - $100,493.33


Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
