Job Description

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 18 credits in special education and 6 credits in education theory.
  • Must hold a Pennsylvania Special Education certificate, or a Pennsylvania Private Academic certification with the ability to attain public certification within one year of hire.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with students with autism or emotional support is required; student teaching can be included.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop classroom strategies that promote an effective teaching and learning environment.
  • Must obtain and maintain agency physical management certification credentials.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing, supervising, and implementing students’ IEP plans.
  • Creating and coordinating student schedules with related services and general education.
  • Collecting and analyzing student data, while monitoring student progress.
  • Effectively collaborating with a large team of professionals to coordinate services.
  • Participating in staff development training focused on working with students with Special Needs.
  • Implementing state-of-the-art strategies to work effectively with students with Special Needs.

Salary: Up to $55,000 DOE
