Software Engineer II / III

Job description

This is a position on our software team with a focus of working on our Mobile Application. We use React Native to serve both iOS and Android out of the same codebase. Come work on a fun smart home product with unique challenges and rewards!

This is a remote position, with preference to Seattle Area based candidates. Periodic office visits may be necessary for collaboration with the Firmware and Hardware teams. Team members typically collaborate in the office on Mondays. All of our meetings are remote capable, and you won't be required to come in every monday. If you're outside of Seattle, we will likely bring you in a few times per year (quarterly).

What we're looking for

Responsibilities

• Check out the Overall Expectations ( document for a detailed description of what we expect from all our team members and the Career Ladder ( for what we expect from specific titles (E2/E3)

Projects you'll work on

• Typescript React Native Mobile Application
• Possibly additional non-mobile applications (React)

Day-to-day expectations

• Code Reviews
• Participate in cross functional discussions
• Participate in asynchronous discussions on slack
• General project work assigned in 2 week sprints

Must Haves

• Demonstrable knowledge in Typescript with 2 or more years of experience.
• 1 or more years of React Native or React experience.

Nice to haves

• Unit Testing
• Bluetooth (with an emphasis on Bluetooth Mesh)
• Infrastructure (Linting, NX Monorepo, Docker, Gitlab CI/CD)
• IoT / Smart Home
• CI / CD
