Social Media Content Writer

Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a highly professional  Social Media Content Writer to join us in either our Scottsdale, AZ, Dallas, TX, Lansdowne, VA or Washington D.C. office. As the Social Media Content Writer, you are a vital part of the Communications Team. In this role, you will report to the Social Media Manager and are responsible for writing, reviewing, and editing social media content according to the comprehensive social media strategy for ADF. You will work to achieve engagement on the most consequential issues of the day by inspiring and educating our existing audience, growing our social media following, and demonstrating a command of best practices and trends in social media.

Your Essential Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:

• Write, edit, and/or publish engaging posts for all ADF social platforms.
• Increase the number of followers and interactions on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, principally.
• Lead, listen, and engage in relevant social discussions to elevate the ADF profile and reputation as the “go-to” organization for our issues.
• Nurture the ADF social media community, responding promptly, tactfully, accurately, and on-brand within our community and among influencers.
• Identify trending topics related to ADF issues, respond in real-time to insert ADF into the discussion, and shape thought on the topic.

Other Responsibilities (Non-Essential):

• You will be asked to perform related duties or special projects as assigned.

Skills you need to succeed:
Demonstrated proficiency in:

• A well-formed worldview foundation from which you can account for “what you believe and why you believe it” and how it applies to today’s cultural moment.
• Strong creative and persuasive writing skills a must.
• Taking complex information and boiling it down to powerful, engaging content that motivates people to act.
• Effective short-form communicator, ability to transform complex ideas into bite-sizes.

Ability to:

• Conceptualize and develop compelling content for social media.
• Think creatively, problem-solve, and be flexible.
• Take initiative and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Work effectively both cross-team and independently.

Education and/or experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or internet-related field.
• 3+ years experience in marketing and/or copywriting for web.
