The Database Admin Consultant will be a member of the Global Database Engineering team, which is responsible for supporting database operations for our managed hosting and managed services customers. You will be working on our ticketing tools to troubleshoot and resolve the proactive and reactive incidents, create and execute change requests, work on other database requests from our customers and troubleshoot recurring incidents through problems tickets. You may also be expected to provide Tier 3/4 escalation support for Lumen Hosting Operations Engineers and customers in their MS-SQL environment. You will be required to work closely with other DBAs in a global team as well as application, systems operations and engineering teams. Required skills: Good hands-on technical knowledge of all running versions of Microsoft SQL ServerDatabase Administration Migration experience from Sybase database to MSSQL.
Good understanding of ITIL methodologies for change, incident problem and request management
Automate recurring database tasks
Strong communication skills and customer-support focused attitude
Self-starter who can work in mission critical environments with minimal supervision.
