Senior Environment Artist

Squanch Games has some crazy worlds—and we need your help to bring them to life!

We’re looking for a Senior Environment Artist who excels at creating high-quality, detailed environments that capture the artistic vision of our games. In this role, you’ll be a trusted expert in execution and reliability, working closely with our design and art teams to exceed quality benchmarks and push the boundaries of creativity.

You’ll be hands-on with every aspect of environment art, from modeling to materials, and will also mentor junior and mid-level artists, helping to raise the quality of the team’s work. If you’re looking for a role that blends creativity, leadership, and autonomy, this is it!

What You'll Do:

  • Own Content Creation: Build advanced, detailed assets in multiple styles while maintaining consistent high quality.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with designers and other artists to align development with artistic and gameplay goals.
  • Provide Guidance: Be a technical and artistic resource for the team, contributing to the growth and development of junior and mid-level artists.
  • Drive Quality: Give and receive critiques across departments to meet the quality bar.
  • Innovate: Learn and implement new tools and processes to improve pipelines.
  • Deliver on Time: Collaborate with production to create accurate estimates and meet deadlines.
  • Mentor the Team: Support and guide less experienced artists to help them grow their skills.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Shipped 2–3 titles or equivalent experience.
  • 3D Skills: Strong portfolio showcasing advanced modeling skills in major 3D packages ( Blender preferred ).
  • Efficiency: Ability to create and populate environments with a large volume of assets quickly.
  • Material Creation: Expertise in Substance Painter, Designer, and Photoshop.
  • Artistic Eye: Strong attention to detail, silhouettes, and composition.
  • Visualization: Able to build content with minimal concept art or direction.
  • Unreal Engine Proficiency: Strong experience, including set dressing, lighting, and material creation using Blueprints.
  • Technical Skills: Manage engine budgets, memory limits, and performance constraints effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills for collaborating across teams.
  • Problem Solving: Resolve advanced technical and visual issues efficiently.
