Sports, Sustainability and Stewardship

Description

Hosmer Point Summer Camp (HP) and the Craftsbury Outdoor Center (COC) are proud to steward ~1.5 acres of no-till, in-house production and educational garden spaces in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and we are looking for people who are excited and enthusiastic about working with soil and children to join the farm crew for the 2026 season. The ideal candidate is positive, fun-loving, fast-learning and hard-working, and should be prepared to coordinate with the farm crew according to strengths and skills. Applicants with more experience may take on roles with more responsibility.

During camp sessions, Gardener Educators will blend education and magic while working with campers aged 9-17. Farm programming emphasizes immersive and positive experiences connecting youth with the care and cultivation of garden spaces and farm animals, as well as cooking and crafting with a range of herbs and flowers grown in our gardens. Gardener Educators will also help on-board, train and work closely with two summer farm interns.

Responsibilities on the veggie production/flower garden side will shift with the seasons and include preparing the farm and gardens for planting, minor construction and repair work, seeding and tending a wide range of vegetables and flowers, and helping coordinate harvest deliveries with two on-site kitchens. Gardener Educators will work with volunteers in various gardens, help manage the daily care of a variety of farm animals, and support sustainable and regenerative farming practices.
