Position Details:

The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for planning, budgeting, executing, and monitoring of the design, engineering, and construction of small to midsize projects and initiatives. You will lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams for the planning and implementation of initiatives providing facility solutions to company growth and change. The position will report to Project Delivery Manager, Real Estate Development. You will have the ability to work from home 3 days per week. Travel up to 25% is required for the position to various Grainger facilities.

You Will:

  • Manage architectural and engineering disciplines and coordinate estimating, budgeting, contracting, scheduling, bidding, purchasing and value engineering activities.
  • Substantially interface with architects, engineers, contractors, and all others necessary for the implementation of design and construction.
  • Use the company specific systems for managing all aspects of the project: cost estimates, budgets, schedule, change orders, value engineering, progress reports.
  • Develop project programming requirements and specifications with cross functional team members/business partners to achieve business goals
  • Balance 5-10 projects at a time and deliver them within scope and on budget.
  • Communicate project updates to all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse range of personalities

 

 

You Have:

  • 3+ years as a Construction Project Manager with direct experience working with General Contractors and Architects
  • Construction management experience including preparation/administration of construction documents, technical knowledge of building materials and construction methodology
  • Ability to read/interpret construction documents
  • Experience with site planning, environmental assessment, geotechnical, zoning, and property acquisition due diligence
  • Planning and scheduling skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, consulting/construction contracts
  • Working knowledge of construction billing and lien waivers
  • Software knowledge of Autocad and Bluebeam.
