JOB TITLE:
Program Coordinator, Senior - Wyoming Conservation Corps

JOB PURPOSE:
The Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Wyoming (UW) seeks an accomplished and creative individual to coordinate and manage the Wyoming Conservation Corps (WCC), a National Service AmeriCorps program housed within the Haub School. The WCC is a conservation program that engages AmeriCorps members in hands-on environmental stewardship projects while providing university coursework and leadership development opportunities unique among conservation corps programs. The Program Coordinator, Senior will oversee the WCC's operational, financial, personnel functions, and AmeriCorps standing while advancing its mission of promoting individual development, stewardship, and education through conservation service. This position plays a vital role in developing students' educational and professional skills, environmental awareness, and leadership capabilities through the WCC's unique combination of field experience and academic coursework. All students, veteran & community participants are AmeriCorps members. The Program Coordinator will implement program goals, provide student mentorship, and facilitate opportunities that enhance corps members' development while maintaining high standards in grant and contract management, conservation work, and community impact. This position offers a pay range of $46,800–$55,008 annually, along with a highly competitive benefits package.

This position is grant funded and considered at-will employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and manage the administrative, financial, and personnel activities of a large and/or complex program(s)

Seek and obtain core and project funding to maximize impact and opportunities; provide timely reports and budgeting information.

Develop, coordinate and administer student enrichment/academic programs for all university students

Provide leadership and oversight of crew leaders and crew members; coordinate a comprehensive leadership-training program

Implement program goals and objectives and revise as necessary; develop and enact a comprehensive plan for delivery and assessment of program objectives and goals

Coordinate program with other university departments to assure smooth delivery of services

Maintain strong and frequent communication with stakeholders and university, state, and national leadership

Provide guidance and assistance to faculty, staff, and students

Oversee program efforts and reduce duplication of efforts

Hire, train, and supervise support staff

Participate in planning, maintenance, and achievement of departmental goals

Serve on committees as appropriate

Coordinate recruitment, training, placement and oversite of WCC AmeriCorps members and WCC AmeriCorps crew leaders

Execute requirements of the federal AmeriCorps grant

Work closely with the state service commission (Serve Wyoming)

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

ABOUT THE WYOMING CONSERVATION CORPS:
The Wyoming Conservation Corps (WCC) is a non-profit organization that promotes individual development, stewardship, and education through localized national service. What distinguishes WCC from other conservation corps is its unique integration with higher education - providing formal university-level courses as part of AmeriCorps crew leader and member training.

Crew leaders participate in an upper-level undergraduate course, 4950-Leadership in Natural Resource Management, during the spring semester. In the summer, WCC AmeriCorps members engage in 3700-Conservation Leadership offered by the University of Wyoming, along with wilderness medical classes and a comprehensive month of field training. All WCC corps members and crew leaders are AmeriCorps members and are held to federal requirements.

Serve Wyoming has awarded WCC a legacy operational AmeriCorps grant. AmeriCorps is a program that connects students, veteran & community participants with opportunities to serve their communities. WCC AmeriCorps members will commit to improving environmental stewardship, gain skills, and will earn an education award at the end of their service term. Serve Wyoming, the Governor’s Commission on Service, awards & monitors AmeriCorps funding. The WCC Program Coordinator must be responsive to the requirements of the Serve Wyoming AmeriCorps grant.

The Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources advances the understanding and resolution of complex natural resource challenges through interdisciplinary education, creation, and dissemination of new information and understanding, and collaborative decision-making.

When the Haub School was established in 1993, it was envisioned as a gathering place. It was meant to be an interdisciplinary hub for scholars and researchers from far-flung fields to tackle cross-cutting environmental issues.
