Job Description

Salary: 112,450 - 203,275 USD per year Requirements:

• We require a Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. A Master's or doctorate degree may substitute for required experience. You should have 12+ years of combined experience with CICS system programming, 8+ years of combined experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IBM utilities and COTS tools (InterTest, Abend-Aid, CICS MAPR, and other similar products), along with 3+ years of experience administering IBM MQ for z/OS. It is essential that you can obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Please note that selected candidates must reside within two hours of SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD and be willing to work on-site at least two days a week.

• In this role, I will have you architect, design, integrate, implement, and manage large-scale, complex CICS environments (CICSPLEX, CPSM, SYSPLEX) across multiple LPAR mainframe systems. Leverage your deep expertise in CICS system programming, application development, IBM MQ, CICS Transaction Gateway, SAS, REXX, IBM utilities, SMP/E, z/OSMF, and COTS tools to optimize our mainframe operations and support application modernization. You will provide architectural oversight for application development teams, drive operational efficiency, mentor and coach technical staff, collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, and ensure high-quality documentation of all CICS system configurations. Additionally, you'll be responsible for diagnosing CICS applications and systems, supporting system integrations, participating in on-call rotations for incident response, and maintaining system performance.
