We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician (Inpatient) to support a leading healthcare facility in Ithaca, NY . The Pharmacy Technician will assist licensed pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining accurate drug inventories, and managing patient medication records. This position operates under the supervision of a registered pharmacist in accordance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:Prepare and distribute medications per physician or pharmacist request, following established policies and protocols.
Replenish medications in automated dispensing units and emergency kits; rotate stock to ensure proper inventory management.
Prepare sterile compounds, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition, using aseptic techniques.
Repackage bulk medications into unit-dose packages safely and accurately.
Assist in ordering, receiving, unpacking, and storing medications and supplies; maintain accurate records and documentation.
Conduct monthly inspections of medication storage areas and replace outdated or unusable medications.
Comply with all sterile compounding regulations and safety standards.
Demonstrate flexibility in performing other pharmacy support duties as assigned.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Certification: Nationally accredited Pharmacy Technician Certification (NHA or PTCB).
Licensure: Active New York State Registered Pharmacy Technician license.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Experience: 2–3 years of hospital or inpatient pharmacy technician experience preferred.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, rotating weekends.
Shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM, or 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM (weekend rotation).
Hours: 40 hours per week.
On-Call: Not required.
