Role Purpose Statement

The Operations Supervisor (Ramp) plays a critical role in leading the ground transportation team that supports airline catering services. This position is responsible for managing the daily execution of aircraft loading/unloading operations, ensuring on-time delivery performance, regulatory compliance, and high service standards.

We are a 24/7 facility, and this position requires schedule flexibility to work the mid shift (2pm start) or night shift and weekends depending on operational needs. You will have 2 consecutive days off.

Main Accountabilities

Supervisor Responsibility

  • • Lead and supervise a team of drivers, assistants, and ramp loaders to ensure timely, accurate, and safe delivery of catering products to aircraft.
    • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily transportation activities, assigning routes and tasks to optimize efficiency and meet flight schedules.
    • Oversee compliance with all DOT, OSHA, FDA, USDA, and airport authority regulations; foster a strong culture of safety and accountability.
    • Conduct pre-shift briefings and end-of-shift reviews to align teams, communicate updates, and address challenges.
    • Monitor labor hours, fleet utilization, and equipment usage to control costs and meet productivity targets.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational performance and reduce delays or waste.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams including culinary, warehouse, and customer service to ensure seamless handoffs and service delivery.

 

Leadership

  • Guide, motivate and develop staff within the Human Resources policies
  • Make the company's values and management principles live in the department(s)
  • Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations
  • Participate and support company sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety and Production systems

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent knowledge preferred
• Two to five years of related work experience required 
• Problem solving and leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results & achieve productivity goals
• Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations
• Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required along with the ability to multi-task
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
