Job Overview:
This position is responsible for the coordination and supervision of the daily operational responsibilities for the area. This individual will work in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Director and Nurse Manager of the unit to develop and manage all aspects of patient care, personnel, performance improvement and to ensure the safe, efficient, and economical operations of the unit are met. The coordinator will provide clinical support as needed, if qualified and within one s scope of practice and will function in accordance with all Federal, state and regulatory agencies and abide to the RWJBarnabas core values, policies and procedures. This position will utilize the nursing process to effectively assess the needs of cardiac and stroke patients, identify a plan of care; implement and evaluate the care given. The coordinator will provide direct and indirect care to patients and lead the patient care team toward goal achievement, coordinate and direct care given by other team members. This individual will address system issues to facilitate the provision of quality and efficient care, while delegating appropriately to other team members and acting as a mentor.
