Job Description
As a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO), you will be the key driver of residential mortgage loan sales and servicing. You'll be responsible for helping clients navigate the mortgage process while ensuring compliance with state and regulatory guidelines. Your role will require licensing in each state where you conduct business. You'll focus on providing exceptional service at each step of the loan transaction to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Origination & Client Relationship: Originate various types of residential mortgage loan products and build a robust network with industry and related industry partners.
Research & Analysis: Pull, analyze, and evaluate important details regarding collateral/property, borrower creditworthiness, and other relevant information to assess loan eligibility.
Customer Support: Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring that all required documentation is collected to move loan files through the processing phase.
Database Management: Regularly update and maintain the marketing database to identify new loan opportunities.
Core Responsibilities:
Loan Origination & Marketing: You will be responsible for marketing and originating residential loans, ensuring all phases of the process are in line with regulatory and company standards, with an expected monthly production of at least three closed loans.
Loan Eligibility Assessment: Conduct preliminary research to help determine the mortgage eligibility of clients and guide them through the process.
Client Communication: Provide excellent customer service throughout the loan process by assisting clients with document gathering and ensuring that all necessary files are submitted for processing. This may involve collaborating with a Loan Partner or working independently.
Collaboration with Marketing: Work closely with the marketing team to support campaigns that expand your network of potential clients, ensuring all loan procedures are followed according to guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities:
Loan Product Knowledge: Stay informed about various loan types and ensure the most suitable loan products are selected for clients. Research competitive rates and ensure clients understand the documents they need to submit.
Documentation & Communication: You will be responsible for gathering all necessary documents from the borrower and ensuring the loan file is complete before submission for processing. You will also maintain clear communication with clients throughout the closing process and attend client closings when required.
