Job Description

Springdale Preparatory School seeks an Upper and Middle School Music Teacher to join our talented team to develop our performing arts program for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year.

This position will inspire students’ appreciation of music through the exploration of music theory and music history by developing students musical skills, knowledge, and talent. This position may also teach individuals or groups instrumental or vocal music lessons to students in grades 6 through 12. The Music teacher may also led instrumental and choral groups in regular and special performances for school programs, community activities, and concerns.

Springdale offers a rigorous curriculum based on real-world application to equip students socially, academically, and emotionally. Springdale teachers offer differentiated and globally minded instruction to students in small class sizes. Full-time teachers are responsible for teaching four or five classes per academic year, as well as participating in extracurricular activities. Teachers should have the ability to infuse technology to create inquiry and project-based lessons to enhance students learning through various instructional strategies and approaches. Springdale teachers encourage and support students though a positive learning environment.

Qualified applicants should hold the following in education and experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in education, music studies, or related field (required)
• Master’s Degree in education, music studies, or related field (preferred)
• Prior experience teaching students in grades 6 to 12
• Commitment to using professional role to further the creation of an equitable and inclusive school community
• Skilled in playing musical instruments (preferred)
• Empathetic and able to cultivate positive relationships with young people
• Use of reflection and feedback aimed at continued growth
• Proficiency with or ability to learn Blackbaud or other online learning platforms
• Teaching certification is not required

This is a full-time, 10-months, exempt position beginning August 2025. Campus housing is available.
