This position is for a Lab Assistant 2 in a BSL-2 and BSL-3 facility. Our mission is to find cures for neurodegenerative diseases and this includes working with prions. Our institute is composed roughly of 50 scientists, postdoctoral fellows and technicians.
Under the direction of the IND Lab Manager, the Lab Assistants will help with general operation of a large (approx. 26000 square ft) lab, in the Sandler Neurosciences building on the Mission Bay campus. Training will be provided to follow specific IND lab procedures for support and the maintenance of the BSL-2 and BSL-3 labs. In addition, the person in this position will be required to foster and strengthen personal and professional relationships within the IND. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $21.47 - $25.29 (Hourly Rate).
