Job Description:

The IP Litigation Legal Assistant will support attorneys specializing in intellectual property disputes, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. This role requires a candidate with strong organizational skills, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage shifting priorities effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in managing complex federal court cases, including document preparation, filing, and case tracking.
  • Provide administrative support for IP litigation cases, such as scheduling meetings, coordinating travel arrangements, and organizing case materials.
  • Perform legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and PACER, and manage litigation software.
  • Collaborate with attorneys on trial preparation, including managing trial exhibits, witnesses, and deadlines.
  • Handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IP litigation within a law firm; extensive civil commercial litigation experience will also be considered.
  • Proficiency in litigation support tools such as PACER, docketing software, and document management systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing high-stakes, multi-million-dollar cases is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Additional Details:

  • Hybrid work schedule (one remote day per week, depending on attorney needs).
  • Standard hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Location: Washington, DC, near metro access and with parking/metro stipend provided (up to $300/month).
  • Background checks include a conflict check to ensure there are no opposing case issues.
