Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the department chair.

The successful candidate will be able to use PowerPoint, video conversion software, and video editing software, including Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and iMovie. They must also be experienced at using and demonstrating a variety of video, sound and lighting equipment, and be prepared to master the use of all currently-owned film equipment at the College. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate proficiency in structuring, delivering, and assessing digital film education in multiple modalities, with an understanding of the standards required for successful transfer; the ability to work collegially and collaboratively with departmental faculty to teach, plan, and implement a variety of film courses; familiarity with curriculum development and assessment practices; the ability to contribute to departmental and campus affairs;  and demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.

All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practice within the classroom.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of teaching college-level film courses, ideally at the community college level, is strongly preferred.  Professional experience in film or related industries is preferred.
