Salary: 87,100 - 157,450 USD per year Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of various network hardware specifications, configuration, and testing processes, as well as industry standards.
• Extensive experience in network engineering, problem management, and performance management.
• Proficient in networking architecture, with the ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance current capabilities and perform needs assessments.
• Strong understanding of data and voice network design, including military and commercial protocols such as BGP and ISIS, switch-to-switch trunking, and circuit configurations through multiplexers.
• Significant experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF) and network appliances (e.g., routers, load balancers, firewalls).
• Expertise in configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while being self-driven to complete assignments and develop proficiencies in processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication, team-building, and collaboration skills.
• An active Secret security clearance is required.
• DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).

Responsibilities:

• I will be responsible for performing, training my team, and developing processes for the following duties:
• Coordinating with customers, overseeing Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), executing all reporting functions, and completing data input associated with new network equipment and service activations to ensure adherence to Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) standards.
• Configuring and maintaining DISA’s out-of-band management network, which consists of Cisco and Juniper devices, using customized baseline configurations for each site.
• Upgrading software on Cisco and Juniper devices.
• Creating and updating project planning documentation to support the development of IP addressing schemes and assigning ports on out-of-band management nodes.
• Conducting systems analysis techniques and collaborating with users to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements in support of customer resources.
• Verifying that all information (points of contact, location, and interface) is accurate and correctly formatted according to provided requirements.
• Checking the accuracy of points of contact for each location through which the circuit traverses.
• Engaging with DISA project managers and customers to resolve issues related to incomplete or unclear requirements.
• Facilitating stakeholder approvals as necessary to ensure ongoing progress of service requests.

The position I am hiring for is the Implementations Network Engineer based in Scott AFB, IL, under the Leidos Digital Modernization Sector/Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) contract. This role is crucial in supporting the network equipment installations and services for projects that serve the Department of Defense networks.

The required education for this position includes a Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 6-10 years of relevant experience. A Doctorate in a technical domain may also be considered.
