Job Summary

We're seeking a strategic, dynamic, and results-driven Global Sourcing Manager to establish and manage a high-performing sourcing organization and supplier network for our Global Pet Care division. In this role, you will drive global supplier selection and management to foster innovation and New Product development and lead exciting projects that improve material performance, reduce costs, and drive innovation, all while ensuring we meet key financial objectives (EBITDA & Cash Flow). Following the Spectrum Value model to achieve Global Pet Care’s operational excellence goals for Service, Quality, Cost, and Working Capital.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and strengthen existing relationships on strategic supplier accounts.
  • Collaborate on the development and implementation of global sourcing strategies and the operating plan budget.
  • Negotiate, approve and execute Annual Contract Manufacturing Agreements, Supply Agreement, and Exclusivity Agreements.
  • Performs and manages competitive bidding process, evaluating the country of origin, pricing, quality, and understanding capacity constraints
  • Keep a pulse on market dynamics relative to raw material and currency fluctuations, ensuring your product portfolio remains competitive and cost-effective.
  • Achieves year-over-year productivity improvements to meet or exceed corporate targets for cost savings and working capital reduction.
  • Manage and ensure supplier performance to achieve a 99% customer fill rate, conducting regular reviews evaluating, measuring and reporting supplier performance and scorecards.
  • Resolve warranty and liability claims with our suppliers, to recover cost in accordance with the contract terms.
  • Lead a team of 1-2 employees and serve as a project leader or team member on strategic assignments assigned by senior management.
  • Present during business reviews, commodity strategy reviews, product development reviews, or operation reviews to senior leadership for assigned commodities

Education and Experience Profile

  • 10+ years in Supplier Management, Global Sourcing, Commodity Management, Program/Project Management, Finance, and/or Manufacturing Operations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a technical field; an advanced degree is a plus.
  • Understanding of US regulatory requirements (AAFCO, APHIS) and the Pet Food market.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification is desirable.
  • Considerable knowledge of sources of supply, markets, price and commodity trends in the Pet Food industry with ability to accurately predict/anticipate marketplace events and develop action plans that anticipate/prevent implementation challenges.
  • Proven experience managing global suppliers and traveling internationally to engage with key partners.

  • Experienced SAP professional
  • Proficiency in Mandarin is preferred.

Work Environment

25% Travel, including International.

Hybrid work schedule (WFH Mondays and Fridays, in office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays,) Conditions are normal for an office environment.
