Position Description:University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks community general pediatricians at our Iowa City, Coralville and Cedar Rapids, IA locations. Appointment rank will be at the rank Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure or clinical track). The individual selected will join the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine to provide patient care and consultative services as a pediatrician in a community clinic outpatient setting.
The Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine has a long history of providing innovative care for Iowa's children. The dedicated faculty and health care teams want to make a difference in the health of Iowa's children and families by bringing evidence-based medicine to everyday practice and providing access to specialty care when needed. The division provides exceptional training to residents, medical students, and nurse practitioners who will lead pediatric care in the years ahead.
The division also provides child protection services, palliative care, child advocacy and child policy, and promotes communication between families and physicians.

The UI Stead Family Department of Pediatrics comprises the medical staff of UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital, Iowa’s only nationally ranked children’s hospital and home to the state’s only accredited Level 1 Regional Resource Pediatric Trauma Center. The ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program at UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital trains 50 pediatric resident physicians. For its 2023-24 edition of “Best Children’s Hospitals,” U.S. News & World Report ranked UI Stead Family Children's Hospital in six pediatric specialties: neonatology, diabetes and endocrinology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, and urology.

Education Requirement:
Must hold an MD/DO degree, or equivalent
Required Qualifications:Board certified or eligible in Pediatrics, or equivalent
License or eligible for licensure in the State of Iowa
Desirable Qualifications:Clinical experience in general pediatrics
Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience working effectively in a welcoming and respectful workplace environment
