Full-Stack WordPress Developer

WHAT YOUR DAY-TO-DAY WILL LOOK LIKE 
Sullivan is a nimble team of strategy driven creative thinkers and doers. We seek an experienced Full- Stack WordPress Developer to help round out our internal creative technology team. 

• You will get the opportunity to build world-class technology products and solutions across the technology, financial services, higher education, and lifestyle sectors.  

• You’ll be partnering with our industry leading creative, strategy and technology teams, championing your discipline as a pillar of our executional process. 

• You understand, and enjoy, technology’s role in the creative process and wish to work within a marketing focused, strategy driven creative environment to use your development skills to deliver on your team’s vision.  

• Comfortable with a structured agile-like development workflow adaptable to project and client needs 

• You will get the chance to learn from those around you, and share what you know in an appreciative environment.  

• Opportunity to do rapid prototyping for concepting as well as building clean final code for delivery 

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TEAM 

You are a thinker, explorer, builder; not swayed by the unknown. You are equipped with the experience, demeanor and fearlessness required to parse complex subject matter and implement strong technical solutions against it.  

• 4+ years agency experience working in collaboration with creative and strategy teams  

• Proven experience building full sites in WordPress using the latest technologies, for the modern mobile web as well as desktop 

• Strong front-end development skills using HTML, JS, PHP, CSS/Sass and Vue  

• Comfortable integrating specialty JS libraries like three.js, D3.js, etc when a project calls for it.  

• Deep understanding and experience with template/component-based website architecture 

• Familiarity with CSS and JS animation 

• Experience working with front-end build systems like Gulp and using Git and GitFlow methodologies 

• Ability to write custom code for WordPress themes and plugins. Familiarity with Drupal themes and Twig templating language a plus.  

• Experience developing with Gutenberg and ACF in WordPress 

• Experience interfacing with and writing code for APIs from external systems. 

• Always striving to follow accessibility, security, and compliance best practices when writing code 

• Works in a collaborative manner, participating in stand-ups and peer code reviews. 

• Comfortable with light DevOps tasks required of hosting environments like WPEngine. Downloading backups, moving code and content between environments, etc.
