Night Shift Shipping Manager

Bassham Foods is a family-owned food distribution company that has proudly served the Fort Worth community for over 70 years. We are currently seeking an experienced Night Shift Shipping Manager to lead and manage our evening shipping operations and ensure the accurate, safe, and timely delivery of products to our customers.

Schedule

• Sunday: 4:00 PM start
• Monday–Thursday: 6:00 PM start

Position Overview

The Night Shift Shipping Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shipping and dock operations during the night shift. This individual will ensure that products are properly selected, staged, and loaded while maintaining strict compliance with food safety, quality, and company standards. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader who can drive accountability, productivity, and continuous improvement across the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and manage labor to ensure all shipping functions are performed safely, efficiently, and accurately
• Oversee product staging and loading operations to support accurate and timely truck departures
• Ensure order accuracy, productivity standards, and quality requirements are consistently met
• Enforce warehouse cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Ensure full compliance with all safety policies and regulatory requirements
• Generate, verify, and maintain all shipping and temperature-tracking documentation
• Ensure all trailers meet Bulkhead QA standards and are sealed and secured properly
• Enforce Floor Loading Manual compliance at all times
• Verify that all trailers are pre-cooled, clean, and ready prior to loading
• Coach, train, and mentor night shift team members to drive performance and engagement
• Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
• Ensure timely dispatch of all outbound shipments, including distribution of keys, invoices, and shipping documents

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing shipping or warehouse operations (food distribution preferred)
• Prior hands-on experience as a case picker
• Proficiency operating a stand-up reach forklift
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of warehouse systems; AS400 experience is a plus
• Experience with label-based picking in a non-automated environment preferred
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
