Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

  • Align the mission and objectives of the Center with the broader goals of the University.
  • Lead the development of grant proposals and identify funding opportunities that align with institutional priorities.
  • Advocate for initiatives that enhance scholarly research and increase grant capacity.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Center personnel, fostering a customer service-oriented culture that supports various stakeholders.
  • Oversee the hiring, training, and professional development of staff and faculty researchers.
  • Develop and manage educational programs, such as workshops, seminars, and webinars, to teach data analytics, focusing on students at Morgan State University and other HBCUs in Maryland.
  • Collaborate with the University Counseling Center to develop gambling prevention programs and provide outreach initiatives addressing problem gambling among students, faculty, and staff.
  • Establish and manage outreach programs, collaborating with external partners to address problems, em gambling, and promote responsible gaming.
  • Collaborate with internal and external departments, centers, and institutes to advance the mission of the Center.
  • Represent the Center on various University committees and provide regular updates on the Center's activities and programs.
  • Prepare written reports at various intervals.
  • Manage the Center's budgets using the University Banner Finance and other software.
  • Develop faculty resources to help identify and pursue grant opportunities.
  • Establish programs to help faculty expand their grant-writing capabilities and inform them about sponsored program opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative environment that encourages research activity among faculty.
  • Provide faculty with pre-award resources, including reviewing and editing grant proposals and offering guidance and support for proposal development.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for faculty research proposal development and funding opportunities.
