Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments of ALS patients, considering disease stage, weight trends, respiratory function, and swallowing ability.Develop and implement individualized nutrition care plans, including recommendations for oral intake, enteral feeding, and supplements.Monitor and adjust nutrition plans in coordination with disease progression and patient needs.Collaborate closely with neurologists, speech-language pathologists, respiratory therapists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare providers as part of the interdisciplinary ALS team.Provide education and counseling to patients and caregivers on nutrition, hydration, and feeding tube management.Document nutrition interventions and progress in the electronic medical record system.Participate in team case conferences and contribute to care planning and clinical decision-making.Stay up to date with the latest ALS nutrition guidelines and research.Assist in the development of clinic protocols and patient education materials.Support clinical research, data collection, and quality improvement projects related to ALS nutrition, as applicable.
