What You'll Do:

Lead and Inspire: Manage a high-performing team of database professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
Optimize Performance: Apply your deep understanding of database and application performance tuning to ensure our systems run at peak efficiency. You'll have the opportunity to leverage AWS native database services and cutting-edge technologies.
Strategic Vision: Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategy for our database services, utilizing data and reporting metrics to drive continuous improvement.
Collaborate and Connect: Work closely with internal partners and project teams to understand their needs and deliver exceptional database services that meet their requirements.
Ensure Security: Maintain the highest standards of security for all database services, implementing robust security measures and staying up-to-date on best practices.
Manage Resources: Oversee software licenses and maintenance contracts, develop and manage operational budgets, and ensure efficient resource allocation.
What You'll Bring:

Extensive Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience managing enterprise database platforms (Oracle, MySQL, DB2, MSSQL) is required, including at least 5 years of experience leading an IT operational support team providing 24x7 support.
Technical Expertise: You'll need a strong understanding of application programming development practices to effectively troubleshoot performance issues.
Cloud Proficiency: Experience managing cloud-based or cloud-hosted database services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is highly desired.
Analytical Skills: You'll be adept at gathering, organizing, and analyzing KPIs and metrics to improve processes and service levels.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively manage, mentor, and motivate a technical team.
Communication Prowess: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Problem-Solving Abilities: You'll be a skilled problem-solver, able to identify and resolve complex issues with multi-faceted impacts.
Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience/training is required.
