Cytology Supervisor position available at the University of Miami through LabCorp. MONDAY through Friday, 1st shift
Cytotechnologist Supervisor: The supervisor/general supervisor, as designated by the laboratory/section director, is responsible for day-to-day supervision or oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results. He/she supervises, plan, designate work and responsibilities of the cytology lab personnel. Duties include:

Helping to maintain the Cytology laboratory by writing the procedure manual, making adjustments to technical protocols as needed, and performing the validations for the implementation of the new instruments and platforms.
Providing back-up coverage to routine daily cytology work, gynecologic and non-gynecologic screening and evaluation, specimen accessioning and preparation.
Managing workload, quality control, supplies and instrument maintenance/ troubleshooting.
Ensuring staff competency and regulatory compliance.
Be accessible to the laboratory as needed for on-site, telephone, or electronic consultation.
Being responsible for day-to-day supervision or oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results.
Assessing the competency of high complexity testing personnel, if this duty is delegated, in writing, by the section director.
Resolving technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established by the laboratory director or technical supervisor.
Monitoring of test performance.
Ensuring that remedial actions are taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory"s established performance specifications.
Providing orientation of testing personnel.
For each 24-hour period, record:
the slide interpretation results of each case he/she examined or reviewed.
the total number of slides he/she examined (screened/re-screened) or reviewed, as well as ensuring the recording of the total number of slides evaluated by others.
the number of hours he/she spent examining slides in each 24-hour period.
