Job Description

Position Summary: The Controller is responsible for managing all accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role ensures accurate and timely financial information, providing strategic insights to support the company's financial health and decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, produce financial reports or statements, and recommend improvements.
  • Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors to ensure compliance.
  • Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Supervise and manage the finance team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in accounting/finance.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
