The AST Comptroller is responsible for oversight of the AST’s finances and accounting operations. This includes
providing the overarching strategy and managing the processes, people, policies, and tools involved in the society’s financial operations; providing reports to staff and the Board of Directors about the society’s budget and financial position; and ensuring that the AST has reliable systems in place to oblige its financial obligations and tax, compliance, and related reporting requirements. The AST Comptroller also leads the analysis of financial data to identify trends and potential risks, and uses this information to recommend opportunities for improvement.

This position is located in Mount Laurel, NJ. The AST is open to considering highly qualified candidates outside of the geographic region for a fully remote or flexible (i.e., hybrid) work schedule. Periodic travel to AST headquarters for strategic planning meetings and Board-related activities is required ; associated travel costs are paid by the AST .

This role requires occasional overnight travel to support AST meetings and other related events. In-person Board meetings occur three to four times a year, generally in conjunction with the AST’s conferences or member meetings.

This position requires occasional travel. This may include the ability to drive a car or travel on public transportation such as trains and airplanes.
Board and member meetings may be scheduled after 5 pm Eastern to accommodate the patient care and work schedules of these volunteers.
Individuals may need to sit or stand for extended periods of time and may require walking for periods throughout the day. Requires ability to use a computer, read a computer screen, use of a telephone and other office equipment as it relates to the work.
Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist or lifting to move or access materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, presentation equipment/documents on certain occasions.
Primary environment would include ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
The hiring salary range for this position is between $90,000 and $115,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package. Individual compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
