About the Role: EnTech is seeking a part-time “Community Engagement Specialist” to join our team in the New York City area. The role involves serving as a key liaison between the company and the local community on a high-profile construction project. In the role, you will provide project information through various channels and attend community board meetings and project progress meetings. The ideal candidate must have written and spoken fluency in Mandarin Chinese to effectively engage with diverse community members.

This is a part-time, as-needed position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Represent the company as a liaison between the community, intergovernmental agencies, utilities, and the Resident Engineer to communicate concerns and ensure project progress.
  • Perform surveys in the project area, identifying key locations such as schools, business, and transportation hubs to anticipate potential issues.
  • Establish and maintain open communication channels, including email distribution lists and a public information tool, to keep the community informed.
  • Attend community meetings, maintain records and document project progress, including distributing notices and securing translations when needed.
  • Track and address complaints, reporting them to all parties involved, and follow up with weekly summaries and bi-monthly newsletters.
  • Coordinate the delivery of essential city services including sanitation and emergency management, ensuring smooth project operations.
  • All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, community relations
  • Must have written and spoken fluency in Mandarin Chinese
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient writing skills

$58.00/hour
