Job Description

A Construction Truck Driver is responsible for safely operating a heavy-duty truck to transport construction materials like dirt, gravel, concrete, and equipment to and from construction sites, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations, often requiring manual loading and unloading of materials at the designated locations. 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Driving and Delivery:
    Operate a variety of construction trucks (dump trucks, mixer trucks, flatbeds) to transport materials to construction sites as per schedule. 
  • Loading and Unloading:
    Manually load and unload materials using appropriate methods, including operating dump truck hoppers or assisting with forklift operations. 
  • Vehicle Maintenance:
    Perform daily pre-trip inspections, check fluid levels, and report any mechanical issues to ensure vehicle functionality and safety. 
  • Navigation and Route Planning:
    Follow assigned routes, navigate construction sites, and manage traffic situations effectively. 
  • Paperwork and Documentation:
    Complete delivery paperwork, log hours, and maintain accurate records of transported materials. 
  • Safety Compliance:
    Adhere to all safety regulations, wear required personal protective equipment, and follow site safety protocols. 
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Valid CDL with appropriate endorsements for the type of truck being operated. 
  • Driving Experience: Proven experience driving heavy-duty trucks in a construction environment. 
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials, climb in and out of the truck frequently. 
  • Basic Mechanics Knowledge: Understanding of basic truck maintenance and troubleshooting. 
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions, complete paperwork accurately, and maintain logs. 
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication with dispatchers, site personnel, and other drivers. 
Work Environment:
Outdoor work in various weather conditions, Exposure to noise from construction activities, and Frequent movement between construction sites.
