Overview

We are seeking a Claims Adjuster who will be responsible for day-to-day management of general liability and automobile liability claims for Gallaghers’ assigned clients.  You will communicate with various parties involved in the claim process.  Through effective claims handling, evaluation, consultation and reporting, you will demonstrate the value Gallagher provides to clients.

How you'll make an impact

What a day will look like:

  • Investigate, evaluate, dispose and settle the most complex claims and highest exposures with minimal supervision.
  • Includes the investigation, determination and evaluation of coverage, liability and damages and setting proper reserves.
  • Handle claims reserves and works with clients/carriers to obtain settlement authority.
  • Exercise proper judgement and decision-making to analyze claims exposure, determine the proper course of action, and appropriately settle the claim.
  • Interacts extensively (in-person, telephone, or email) with all parties involved in the claim.
  • Clearly communicates concise action plans and presents plans for moving the case to conclusion.
  • Demonstrates complete knowledge of the claim file process through presentation of actions and responses to client questions.
  • Process claims consistent with clients, carriers, and corporate policies, procedures and “best practices,” and in accordance with any statutory regulations and ethics requirements.
  • Demonstrates ability to comply with carrier reporting threshold requirements.
  • Recognizes and pursues excess insurance recoveries.
  • Handles a full case load with proven ability to manage cases of increased severity.

About You

Required

  • Experience in investigating, evaulating and negotiating general liability and automobile liability claims.
  • Proficient in recorded statements and generating reports on claims.
  • Experience with on scene investigations and face-to-face meetings with clients/insured, claimants and witnesses.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience-OR-High School degree/GED with 8+ years as a claims adjuster.

Preferred

  • Law enforcement liability claims a plus but not necessary.
  • Litigation claims experience a plus but not necessary.
  • Mississippi Tort Claim Act experience a plus but not necessary.
  • Experience with SIR?Self Insured Accounts a plus but not necessary.
