Mending Wall Winery, located in St. Helena, is hiring for the position of Cellar Worker. We are looking for dedicated, detail oriented, and hardworking people to join the production team.

In addition to the Mending Wall wines, we make critically acclaimed wines for numerous other Thomas Rivers Brown projects including Maybach, Pulido~Walker, Caterwaul, Casa Piena, Aston, Rivers-Marie, Boars View and Riverain, and many more. A few other highly acclaimed winemakers work in our space as well.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Cellar Work:
Follow established sanitation and winemaking protocols to ensure all wine work (and must/juice
processing) is made in an efficient, correct, sanitary and wine-focused manner.
Assist winemaking team with daily winemaking activities, including racking barrels to tank,
blending, filtering, topping, filling barrels, barrel maintenance and other winemaking needs
Maintain a clean and sanitary cellar
Read and comprehend work orders generated by the winemaking team
Safely operate a forklift, including stacking and un-stacking barrels, moving / stacking full
Update and maintain barrel row cards and be able to quickly locate all barrels in cellar

Harvest:
In addition to cellar work described above, the following will be required work during harvest.
Sanitizing tanks and all harvest equipment daily.
Receiving and sorting fruit
Loading presses
Running punch downs and/or pump overs
Making additions to must and wine in tanks, open tops and barrels
Draining and pressing tanks
Racking tank to tank and racking tank to barrel
Barrel preparation and stacking, topping, etc.
Working with and assisting temporary cellar work hired for the season.
End of day cleaning of entire crush pad to prepare for the following day’s work
Overtime and weekend work will be required during harvest.

Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
CA Driver’s License
A minimum of 3-5 years previous winery experience. A complete knowledge and skill level to operate all winery equipment.
Speaking, writing and reading English, Spanish speaking is a plus

Benefits:
Hourly Pay $22-$24/hour plus overtime. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, and skills..
