Overview: The
Buyer will source materials, products, and services from qualified vendors, while meticulously monitoring costs, quality, and delivery to ensure alignment with our business model and requirements.
Responsibilities: - Issue purchase orders for sales, production, and stock needs
- Respond to price and delivery requests for non-stocked items
- Evaluate stocking levels to minimize inventory
- Negotiate with suppliers on price, lead time, and quality
- Conduct vendor audits, inspections, and negotiations
- Use inventory management programs like JIT, MRP, and E-commerce
- Coordinate with Product Managers, Material Control, and Production
- Maintain product ownership, including purchase price and lead time
- Ensure accuracy of purchase order delivery dates
- Develop relationships with suppliers
- Communicate professionally with team members and suppliers
- Provide performance feedback to suppliers
- Perform other assigned duties
Qualifications: Required - Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience
- 1-3 years of experience or education in procurement, inventory management, or a supply chain related field
- Proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools like Power BI
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams,
- Familiarity with purchasing techniques, including RFQs, blanket orders, and product demand discounts to enhance strategic costing capabilities.
Preferred: - Foreign language skills
- CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Management) certification
- CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification
- Knowledge or experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
