Job Description:

This leader will have direct fiscal and administrative responsibilities for assigned colleges and departments. The leader will connect the strategic direction of the college or department to both the university and academic affairs. The leader will lead and direct the overall operations of assigned areas with the authority delegated by the Associate VP of Academic Finance to act in these areas. This includes fiscal and budget administration, human resources management and planning, information technology, purchasing and facilities. The Associate Director responsibility relevant to the responsibilities will embody a greater scope and complexity. This will include and increase expectation and maintenance of organizational effectiveness, along with a wide array of diversity within a portfolio of responsibility and oversight.
This role will also play a key role in assisting college deans or other academic department leaders in fiscal planning to achieve goals which support the college. However, this position must elevate the overall impact relevant to Academic Affairs at large. As an Associate Director, understanding and planning along the lines of decisions within Academic Affairs and its impact on the University and Campus Community is vital.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is required in a related area such as accounting, business, or finance.
Minimum four (4) years of progressively responsible financial and business operations experience.
Knowledge of University budget system, finance, and accounting policies, as well as University policies, rules regulations, and best practices, or ability to acquire and apply this knowledge.
Project management, or extensive experience with cost and schedule development of long-term planning is desired.
One (1) year of leadership experience in appropriate field or supervising permanent professional employees is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in a business-related field preferred, such as an MBA
